This is recorded from top into a plastic container, bottom width is 3 1/2", with water, the worms are over 5" long and move slowly. Diameter is about the thickness of a paper-clip.
Not sure at this point if they are friend or foe. They looked like a root but then started moving....

  • OK - not nematodes, but horsehair worms (Nematomorpha) -> look in Wikipedia, can't paste a link here...
