LS1 knock?

UPDATE: Have found the problem - it was the lifters afterall! Have had a few people message me on here now, and yes, my problem was the lifters.

Got a bit of a knock coming from the ol' LS1... sounds like lifters but I'm not completely sure, nor is my mechanic.

how much it cost to change?

@77disel - From memory, It cost me a touch under $AUD 500 to have all the lifters replaced, and the burs in the inlet manifold cleaned up while it was off (just because we could). Could've done it cheaper myself, but I didn't have the time back when it was an issue.

@TheOzjim - bought the lifters off eBay, replaced them with the help of a friend. Was actually rather easy.

Ended up being noisy lifters :) Have since changed them and the noise is gone.

I have a 01 z28. Same noise but louder. 165000 miles. I'm a gm master tech. I can safely say u should still be out raping mustangs with or without piston slap. Not a problem.

my ls1 is making the same noise, how urgent does it need to be fixed do you think? is it really bad for it to be making this noise?
