This timpani solo, No. II Funk, was composed by Todd Ukena and was performed by Hector Blanco on timpani and Robert Reyes on drumset at The University of Texas at Brownsville on August 11, 2005. The music on the end credits was performed and recorded by the award-winning University of Texas at Brownsville 1 o'clock Jazz Band Fall Semester 2001 for its performance at the University of Notre Dame Collegiate Jazz Festival 2001 at Washington Hall.

This is Todd Ukena. Even though this is not the drumset part I wrote to go along with this solo I do like the way it works together. Good Job. Your missing many of the tunings. Getting them will make it sound much better. (Play them on a keyboard so you know what they sound like.) You and the drumset player play well together. I enjoyed this. Thanks for giving me some new ideas.

I played the timpani part as my solo at TPSMEA State back in '05 and got 1's, then got to play it for the school in my senior concert with a friend on the kit. Really exciting piece to listen to and an even bigger thrill to play.
