Queen's Solar Car Team (ASC 2003)

The majority of this footage was taking during the American Solar Challenge in July 2003. The Queen's Solar Car Team was racing the 1st Canadian 2-seater solar car against 20 other university teams throughout North America. This was the second of three races that I participated in during my 4 years on the Team.

That is one sick looking puppy! (in a good way) A few questions: What is the battery rule if there is any? I'm sure it has to have something for when it gets cloudy !? Also what happened at 1:57 pushing it ? Tough hill or was there some issues? Anyways looks like a beautiful sleek and cool design. Must be tons of fun to be part of something like that. Congrats!

All the rules for the competition (and there are many! :)) are indicated on the North American Solar Challenge website. The project is tons of fun. The team consists of university students who design, build and race a solar electric car. It's awesome. The clip where my teammates were pushing the car was at a tough hill. Thanks for watching!

I wonder if any of these solar powered vehicles can magnify solar energy for those not so sunny days. You know? Basically squeeze and milk every bit available at any given time to keep it running
