From my series FRIDAY NIGHT! Liberal Party of Canada MP Sheila Copps and Leader of the New Democratic Party Audrey McLaughlin appeared on my late night LIVE TO AIR talk-variety series to play Political Jeopardy. Conservative Party Leader Kim Campbell (at the time Canada's first female Prime Minister) refused to appear. So we had fun anyway and the other two women were amazing. This is before Bill Clinton played sax on Arsenio (whose show monitored ours all the time.) I helped research Sheila's Liberal Party Leader Jean Chretien rehearse for the debate against Conservative Brian Mulroney and ... we WON!

  • This is disgusting ... the CBC is so fucking biased it makes me want to barf.

And this is DURING AN ELECTION, no less!

Why are we paying our public broadcaster to provide a platform for politicians to launch personal attacks like this? I have a sense of humour, but Copps and McLaughlin have no class.

And for the record, Kim Campbell wasn't Coronated - she barely won on the 3rd ballot in a very competitive leadership race.

This video is a reminder of the ongoing corruption at the CBC!

  • Kim Campbell was invited and when she chose not to appear she dug her own grave. If you have a problem with your point of view being represented, blame the Conservative Party. This sketch would have been funnier had she been there because, much like Stephen Colbert, she could have had zingers about the Liberals and the NDP. Why don't you just watch FOX News?

  • I regret in my writing that in the intro I didn't identify our third contestant -- Canada's Conservative Prime Minister Kim Campbell (our first woman Prime Minister). i should have named her and shown a picture. Anyway... Canadians got it.

  • This is during Canada's election campaign in 1993. Conservative Kim Campbell was Canada's first Prime Minister, but, to her detriment, declined to appear.NDP Leader Audrey McLaughlin and Liberal MP Sheila Copps did and wowed the nation. The Liberals won the election and Sheila became Deputy Prime Minister.
