  • Shelia's acting career did not begin on "Dobie Gillis" -- it just peaked there. Her real debut was as a regular on Stu Eriwn's "Fife With Father" TV series when she was still a small child. Viewed today, the sitcom's pretty dull -- until Shelia comes onscreen, bursting with self confident charmisma. After "Dobie" Shelia was a minor regualar on "Broadside" but then gave up acting to work at UCLA. Only after that did she enter politics. The Zelda-Dobie episodes of "Dobie Gillis" are great. .
