Brian Brown and his attorneys (Bopp, Coleson & Bostrom) visited Maine recently to testify at a meeting of the Maine Commission on Governmental Ethics and Election Practices, which was considering Fred Karger's request for an investigation of the Stand For Marriage Maine PAC regarding violations of state campaign finance laws by its largest donor, the National Organization for Marriage (NOM).

The commission voted 3-2 in favor of proceeding with an investigation.

  • Yes on 1 people must feel a lot of shame and fear the cleansing sunlight of transparancy.

  • Brown sounds just like Sarah Palin saying she "welcomed the investigation" into her troopergate scandal, which found her guilty of unethical behavior.

  • @jeffmonc2 Prop 8 will be overturned.

  • Yeh I don't believe ANYTHING the media say on homosexual marriage. They are a bunch of liberal morons. They play up the slightest religious approval and then ignore completely ignore their set-backs. E.g. did you know that Vaughn Walker the judge who tried to set aside Proposition 8 in California is "retiring", and being investigated for not recusing himself. And Prop 8 - still on.

  • NOM will fall, eventually.

  • Fred Karger and California against hate is such a hateful organization. It does not make any sense. Have they disclose all the money Fred and the Unions have spent to support Prop *. I think they need to clean their closet first

  • Religious fundimentalists yet again telling everyone else how to live their lives.

  • We don't need a repeat of what happened in California with this awful organization being shrouded in secrecy regarding its funding. The people have a right to know what this organization is and who is behind them. Sunlight indeed is the best disinfectant.

  • Thank goodness they did the right thing. Mr. Brown's testimony regarding their 990 tax forms was blatantly dishonest and everyone could see through the bull. He completely lacks any credibility.
