I see a big red flag when watching this video... 1: why isnt there any valves in the chamber when you are grinding around the seats. if you hit that area just a little it can do major damage to your head and a 3-angle valve job isnt cheep to fix a f,ck up
-
@rotor13 that is true also, and most of times that's what ends up happening.
-
@da1stegr true, but its better to leave it alone if you dont know what youre doing because you could hurt your performance instead of improve it
-
@rotor13 There is always room for improvement, and that's what I think he is portaying here in this video. Everybody is always trying to find ways how to extract every little power that they can. But I think I know what you mean to say is that if you are trying to do something that might hurt you in the long run then why do at all, leave it to the pros. But sometimes people can't always afford those places cause they are a ripp off and sometimes they don't even do any better.
-
@da1stegr Anyone can polish ports.... the difference there is WHY are you porting.
-
@rotor13 So whats your thoughts on this dude porting and polishing this head. IMO I think he actually did a pretty darn good job cause he looks like he knows what hes doing, now that not saying hes a pro or anything but I think anyone can do anything if they actually put their mind into it & try hard enough and put some effort and the end result will be astonishing. But then again their are those who think they know it all & in reality don't know shit about what they say they know.
-
@da1stegr Very true indeed. Thats exactly why professionals go to school and even learn tricks of the trade, and why backyard mechanics always wonder why they can never make decent power from their builds
-
@rotor13 vert much true, but alot of people fail to realize that cause they don't know wtf their doing.

fuckin useless video
cameraman useless too...

@HunterCO1 polishing helps the chamber. It decreases carbon buildup which can lead to hot spots and ultimately lead to detonation/knock. It does not add any power, but it is a good preventative measure.
But now there are coatings that do just that now.
and depending on how much material is removed, he COULD be lowering compression, but minimally. Probably less than 1cc of volume is opened up when polishing this area.
Thank's for comments, bads or not. i'm not a pro of port matching, so i just love the sound of my engine and the power it develop. i have not built a drag engine ! if you want to make a job like this, be carefull, take you time and see a lot of videos.
so, i installed a water to air setup with 2 intercoolers 450CFM. i will run a Vi-pec ECU and i hope the car will be tuned on the dyno before jully of this year. i will let you know how HP and torque the car develop without methanol injection.
