  • @hadeslovesgreenday Yes, the steel pan drum did originate in Trinidad. Music used to be outlawed there so the people would take a hammer and pound on steel drums like the ones that used to sit behind a house with garbage in them. The hammering slowly beat the shape of a pan. Then the people started to see how many different sounds they could get, that's what ingenuity can do. True story, look it up.

  • @rieg10 i am from jamaica and we use it a lot and most reggae have it in, it was invented in trinidad but it is used loads by jamaicans :)

  • @AManandHisPan Lighten up man!

  • woow i never heard this instrument before, it´s fucking awsomeeee!

  • Hey, just wondering... isn't the steel pan a jamaican instrument after all?

  • I HEARD THESE WERE INVENTED IN JAMAICA LOLOLOLO

  • @hadeslovesgreenday Well thank god for Jamaica, I don't know where we would be in this world if Jamaica hadn't invented the steelpan!

  • I am willing to bet this guy does NOT play pan professionally. First of all his pan is a D pan and it has a MIDDLE C AND a high c. I know because I play D pan as well. And I absolutely DON'T LIKE when people refer to this instrument as a 'drum'. THE STEEL PAN IS NOT A DRUM!

And big up T&T for inventing this instrument but the country dropped the ball on the pan a long time ago...As a country it does little to promote and advance the pan..It's a shame because now Europeans are doing it.

  • I alway hear thus instrument being played in Nintendo Mario games!

  • @godsangelfella aamm ok i am a trinidadian living in trinidad....n u all need 2 come trinidad 2 understand jamaicans can't play it shit as gud.heheheh come round carnival time!!!! den allyuh will never make the mistake and say it was invented in jamaica again!!!!!! my humble opinion :)
