John Jarratt (the actor who plays the serial killer) told an interviewer about a time when he went to watch the film in the cinemas. During one of the torture scenes, in which Jarrat's character has one of the girls tied up against a pole, one of the teenaged girls sitting in front of Jarratt turned around to avert her eyes from the horrors that were occurring onscreen. Jarratt told the interviewer that he stared the frightened teenager in the eyes and delivered his distinctive laugh! Poor girl.

I think the best part about this movie is the guy who plays the psycho (Jarret) is also in Play School or was in Play School. I don't know

He's not messed up in the end at all... he's just doing his job... an actor playing a psychopath. And if he can convince you that he is messed up in the head, then he must be a damn good actor wouldn't you say.
