The judeo-christian-islamic god is not a fallacy, it only shows your ignorance on matters of religion. Do you know what are the 'semitic religions'? those based on a monoteistic creature they call either: elojim, allah, or yaweh.

Your exception does not work for the Christian God because 1) not all Christians believe that Jesus was God incarnate, and 2) Jesus' resurrection nullifies any supposed sacrifice that he made or hardship that he suffered. You can't say that you sacrificed something if you got it (and more) back a day and a half later.

Scholar's use the classification of "Western" to group together the three great monotheisms -judaism, christianity, islam- and also recognize the evolution of and interrelations between these beliefs systems.
The family of God figures (Judeo-Christian-Muslim) is recognized by religious scholars. It would be ignorant not to admit this relationship.

Those proofs are not Stenger's -he has gathered them from other sources. More importantly, they are not central or even important to his overall case. They are just there for a feeling of completeness.
btw, Stenger is a physicist. Do you think you understand physics better than he does?
The book was well written and well researched. I agree with its general conclusion which is simply that there is no evidence for God, and to the extent that there SHOULD be, God doesn't exist.
How is calling it the judeo-christian god a "fallacy"? That title is merely pointing out the historical origins of a family of god figures.

he called it the Judeo-christian-islamic god
thats a huge fallacy. YahWeh and Allah have next to nothing in common.

First of all, a "fallacy" is a logical error. If it is an error to call the God the judeo-christian-islamic God it is not a fallacy as such. In any case, it is not an error. YehWeh and Allah have the same historical origins, and Muslims believe they are the same God. On top of that, The terminology employed by religious scholars is typically akin to 'judeo-chrisitan-islamic', although they use the shorter 'western'.

The muslims do consider Yahweh and Allah to be the some god, dispite the fact that Allah was derived from a moon god who was worshiped in Mohammed's lifetime. on top of that, the Quran disagrees with most everything in the holy scriptures of Yahweh. Just because the Muslims say that they worship the same God as Christians and Jews, does not mean that they actually do. and i personally have never heard a scholar worth his merit use the term Judeo-christian-islamic god. thats just silly.

It's so entertaining - in a comedic laughing way - watching mental weaklings try to pose as mental he-men.
