Arturo Gatti v Joey Gamache

Arturo "Thunder" Gatti vs. Joey Gamache. 26/02/2000. The weight disparity on the day of the fight was so great that it resulted in a popular outcry against Gatti. This violent knockout landed Gamache in the hospital for a week and ended his career. In his last fight on Feb. 26, 2000, Gamache was brutally knocked out in two rounds by Arturo Gatti at Madison Square Garden. Gamache suffers from permanent brain damage and will never fight for the title again.[8] He filed lawsuits against both Gatti and the New York State Athletic Commission. He alleges that Gatti weighed significantly more than the contracted weight at the time of the fight[9] The case was tried and decided by Judge Melvin Schweitzer, who found the State negligent in its lax handling of the pre-fight weigh-in. The judge, who was not convinced that the negligence was a substantial factor in causing an injury, did not award any damages. Gamache considered the verdict a win

Gatti was the rocky balboa of pro boxing, a man who could end anyones career. The way that man boxed was unreal!

The weight thing was absurd. This was a bad fight from the get-go it shouldn't have ever happened. Gatti always came in as a middleweight and here he was fighting a blown up lightweight. Gamache got so damaged he never fought again because of poor fight making.

omg wow, i love gatti but this is the cheapest bullshit i have ever seen, i dont know whats worse, the 19 pounds or the punch afetr the bell, gatti doesnt give a fuck lol
