@lollipopfop you could say that about the countless rapists and murderers who somehow receive absolution in the Catholic church.

If the girl tended to sleep with men, then her confession would be rather meaningless, no matter how sorry she was each time. Her refusal to name the father adds to it. Why would a priest give absolution? Its not done to make people feel good about the bad things they do. Isn't committing adultery forbidden in the ten commandments? Cadfael is cool, but a washout as a Catholic.
