The only complaint I have against mom&pop is you obviously cant always find everything you need, but mostly it's the cost. They dont have the big overhead that big box stores have, so they should charge cheaper. I realize that they dont have the big buying power, but with less overhead it should balance out. But in some cases it doesn't.

I live in New York and while we don't have mom and pop stores we did have the cigarette smoking guy you could haggle with on every street corner. Once the big chains chased them out I knew something was going to go wrong with this country. LET THE BIG CHAINS BURN!

I shop at the Goodwill Mega Chain. I really like the selection and quality and you can't beat the prices.
