Well, I just did a fast one, so I thought I'd slow it down for a second......Very pretty Canadian waltz. Hope you enjoy it. Thanks for watching!

  • Nice job again Gary. The Ookpik Waltz was written by Frankie Rogers a Canadian fiddle legend in 1965.

I first met him, when I hired him to play on an album I was producing back in 1986 I later took a class with him when he was in his 80's at a swing camp in Sorrent B.C. He died in this Sept.8th. (2009) Frankie was an amazing player and could imitate all the sounds of a pedal steel (which his brother played). He did a lot of triple stops and harmonized whole tunes with himself.

  • Wow! I knew it was Canadian, but I didn't know who wrote it. I bet he was amazing! Thanks for the comment Paul. I definitely plan on looking at some more of your tunes. I downloaded a stack of them, and I'll start with the ones you mentioned.

  • So, how long do we have to wait for the CD? I would love to have a CD of the songs you have uploaded here. Any possibility of that happening?

  • I have a cd of some of my favorites. If you are interested just send me a message with your email! I don't charge anything but the shipping on them. I totally just play for the fun of it!

  • Beautiful job on this song! Now that I've heard you play this one, I have to listen to the rest that you have posted. thank you for sharing your talent with us.

  • Thanks for the comment and for stopping by!
