  • I can't get exciting about moderate tinkering (or talking about moderate tinkering) when we need radical root and branch change. Most people feel alienated from the government of their country - plus many people either don't want to be "British" any more or feel they are governed by a London that doesn't understand them. In short -- we are in a mess.

  • I'm assuming that Scotland will become an independent country at some point - and who knows what impact that will have on the rest of the UK. Personally I'd like to see regional assemblies across England; with GENUINE power. Let people feel they have a chance to influence the way they are governed. As a dramatic gesture of intention how about moving the UK (or English) parliament to the Midlands. The House of Commons can house the SE Assembly?

  • Simon Davies is one of the few people standing up to this crazy Big Brother society Nu-lab is creating.

    Good on you.
