As kids we'd love the show but only to laugh at Greens outdated 'sincerity' act, overly smug presenter routine and pervy leching. He was the original cheesey American style game show host here in the U.K. The kind Michael Palin and Eric Idle would send up so brilliantly on Python.

He's from a time when we only had 2 tv channels, he had no competition. People watched Opportunity Knocks because it was light hearted variety and a talent show. i liked the show but not Hughie Green who clearly took airtime opportunity to broadcast his own twisted and bigoted beliefs. Nobody believed he meant anything sincerely. I would've pestered my MP to bring back opportunity Knocks but without Hughie Green. Listen to this audience, they don't like him.
