Mona Mahmudnizhad- "The Angel Of Shiraz"

I have actully been to her house...After they hanged her and well from the time she was in jail they didnt change/touch her room at all...everything was and i believe it still is in the same place....very very sad.....

Just read the writings and you will under stand the story...One thing that is really special for me is that my G-parents house were next to her house so my dad and her were friend and he was there at the time when they hanged mona and the others. :(

All these young women had lives to live. They had yet to see the best of what life had to offer them. God bless them for dying for what they believed in and standing up to a dictator regime in their own way. They left their mark in this world for all of us to see and to learn from. All of our lives will pass, but how we choose to leave this world can make history.

Mona and Neda Agha Soltan both died on close dates and on a Saturday. Mona was executed on June 18, 1983 by way of hanging and Neda was shot down on June 20, 2009 for protesting. Neda's entire lifetime passed between the time Mona was imprisoned and killed and until she was killed herself. This comes to show that what happened to Neda has been going on for decades now. I wonder how many lifetimes have to pass before people are senselessly killed for standing up for what they believe in.

Such devotion and faith is a rare thing in the youth of today. Mona's story should be resurrected for each new generation to hear and be moved by.

Someday we will all be free to worship and believe in peace. Mona will smile once more on that day. Thank you for sharing her story. I have just recently begun looking into it as I was a child at the time of her imprisonment and execution.
