Having 999 HP, 999 MP, a speed of 50, a physical attack of 99, and a magic attack of 99 seems like you'd have to use a Gameshark or the related in order to have. It turns out that it's entirely possible to have such stats without cheating, rather, exploiting a weakness/design flaw in the game. This 7-part video series explains not only the basics of the whole process, but offers battle tips too that make this game look like child's play for difficulty. Try surviving a single battle for 5+ hours without taking any HP damage. I've gone on 7 hours that way!

  • am i missing somthing here i thought it was a basics guide

  • This covers the basics of stat maxing. It is not a walkthrough of the game. The basics work for everyone except Ramza and the mime job (the latter for raising magic attack) where these require special attention. There's also the rocket speed method and the unpublished warp speed method.

  • i lvled up and down about 4 times and my stats went down alittle the 4th time , using bard/ninja, is that normal ? and will the go up next time ?

  • With Bard/ninja, all stats, except magic attack, go up. Magic attack goes down, but only about 2% or so each full 99-1-99 cycle. To counter this, use the mime.

  • im using gameshark to. but after the battle end, WTH MY SOLDIER RUN AWAY??!! ANY HELP?!

  • @ulillillia i did it wrong on the 4th time nvm :P got to about 35 speed, and already got 999 hp and 99 PA :D

  • Zeklaus Desert is one place I mentioned in my GameFAQs guide. There was another (Fovoham Plains or the Plateau adjacent to it - there are a lot of high-movement birds present that makes this place quite troublesome).

  • @ulillillia i dont know if you found this one out,but i found a really early possibility to level down your characters.if you got to Zeklaus desert, and go there in the canyon on the right side, there is a field with a trap.Actually doing the training to level up 99 in chapter one^^

  • @ulillillia urgh......dont mention the fu.....chocobos.......oh a nice and fluffy chocobo..oh they also have different colors...oh they get in attack range......ITS OVER 9000....boom dead.....ok..thats not an alternative....

  • The earliest one that I'm aware of is the Fovoham Plains, the one with the seaside cliff. This area is more difficult as the enemies have a high movement radius - usually birds.
