My Blog : http://uspimpclub.blogspot.com I was shocked when on my way home , I witnessed the most unbelievable event ever , a video store was gone , A local bluckbuster in Champlain Mn closes . If any of you are familiar with this location you know that this is a fine location for a blockbuster video store , well i was wrong , people are finding easier and cheaper ways to rent movies , like Redbox and Netflix which are replacing Blockbuster and Hollywood video !

  • im thinking that the owners of blockbuster could have saved a bit of money by not putting the 'this store only' part on their closing signs

  • @spaghettimonsterman1 I agree ! =)

  • Pretty much every blockbuster I know is going out of business. The same thing with Borders, all of their locations in my area are going out of business gradually and they put the "this store only" sign up, but its obvious they are finished. They are all prime locations and if those can't survive then how can any!?!

  • Blockbuster was killed by the internet and places like netflix.. has very little if anything to do with the economic crisis

  • Blockbuster has been goin out of business for the last 10-15 years, simple reason, they sucked. Die blockbusted! <-----yess

  • Happened here in Vallejo, Ca. too (2 locations), along with Hollywood video.

  • Mine in Long Beach, CA closed too.

  • Blockbusters closed in Alberta too. Just this month they went out of business.

  • I think there all gone now!

  • @rjturk funny thing was that when they "dropped" their late fees it was some false marketing strategy that bit them in their ass. Their "no late fees" wasnt even true, they charged you a "restocking" fee if the video was late. They actually got sued over it and lost, ever since then i stopped going to blockbuster and stood with Netflix.

If businesses think they can screw their customers then they should just remember what happened to blockbuster.

  • Its really simple...there isnt economic crisis, infact its the opposite, think about it:

    Blockbuster --replaced by-- Netflix

    Borders --replaced by-- Amazons kindle

Its just that theres new competition out there, and these businesses simply couldn't keep up with the changing times. This indicates no crisis, but infact shows that the economy is still healthy thanks to competition, lets just hope it wont get monopolized.
