I wish I could order a cable package that doesn't include canadian content. The first 20 channels on my tv dial are never viewed because it's just boring.
Maybe I would care about canadian content if it didn't suck so bad.

They so got it backwards! The only reason for this 'cable tax' is BECAUSE the major networks want to be paid MILLIONS by the cable companies. If you take a major revenue hit then you have to find a way to make up that loss in revenue to pay the bills.
The major networks are feeling the financial pinch like the rest of us but just don't wanna be responsible...like the rest of us. Well suck it up princess and take a book keeping course.

Cable companies just sends a hard wired signal of what local TV broadcasts for free anyways. The cable customer is paying for the hard wired signal that the cable company provides. They don't "pocket" 70%. they are not some miracle company that defies the economic equilibrium, they use that 70% to pay for operations. They make profit like any other public company makes and thats usually close to inflation, hopefully more if things go well. Don't manipulate the public !

I noticed censorship was going on when LocalTvMatters (dot) ca had a Public Message Board.
You heard me correct, most of the people were protesting on LocalTvMatters and than they closed the Public Boards and had one comment supporting TV stations.
