You're Not Alone Ch40

"Hey Mandy!" Joe shouted as he walked into Child Development.
"Oh hey." Mandy said.
"Hey did you know that Nicks b-day is the 23?" Joe asked.
"No I didnt... what am I gonna do? I have get Nick something special..." Mandy began to panic.
The bell rang and class started.

Mandys POV:
Class seemed like 10years not 50minutes! I could not concentrate. I was too distracted about Nick. I had no idea what to get him... I mean I only met the guy a few days ago! After class I caught up with Selena.
"Sel!" I called.
She stopped in the hall looking for whoever called her.
"Sel. Hey. I need your help! Do you know what Nick would want for his birthday???"
"Well, um... he loves books, oh and sports... OH! I heard him talking about some kind of book called Jive or Jug..."
"Jinx!" I corrected.
"Thats the one..." Selena pointed.
"Cool I'll look into it." Selena and I started walking toward our class. "So what do you and your sisters want?"
"Well, Demi and I love similar things, and Miley loves anything pink and flashy..."
"Oh I see..." Mandy exhaled. "Well my class is right here... I'll catch you later?"
"Yeah, seeya." Selena waved walked to her next class.

Once again my mind was distracted. Thinking about Nicks perfect present was mind boggling. Then it hit me. The night I had dinner at his house, he gave he a tour of the house and when he took me into his room, I saw the poem Black Keys! Ive got to gat my hand on a copy!!! I think Im gonna write a small melody and add harmonies. It will be perfect.
"AMANDA!" Mr. Tipton yelled.
"Huh?" I answered.
"Wake up and give us your answer please we are waiting." Mr. Tipton asked impatiently.
"Sorry sir, um I got 52."
"For daydreaming that is surprisingly correct." Mr. Tipton turned around and continued marking up the white board.

After class I met Demi in the lunch room. "Demi!" I hollered.
"Hey." she called.
"Hey I need a favor."
"Sure anything."
"I need you to get the piece of paper in Nicks room called Black Keys." I begged.
"Ooh except that... Nicks always home in the afternoons, I cant go in there when hes home. I cant go in there in general..."
"Fine... how about I keep him after school today for about 10-15 minutes. I'll text you when I let him go. Hopefully youll follow my directions and beat him home, that should give you like ten minutes to make a copy and put the original back in his room! Can you do that?!" I asked painfully out of breath.
"Um..." Demi hesitated as the cafeteria was flooding with students.
"Come on please? Just pretend youre a spy, and Im your director, and Ive given you a very important mission..." I persuaded her.
"Oh, OK..." Demi reluctantly said. "But you owe me big time, like an awesome present for my b-day!" Demi lightly punched my arm.
"Dont worry..." I said.

"Dont worry about what?" Nick asked as he sat down beside me.
"Oh nothing... just girl stuff..." I innocently smiled and I winked at Demi.
"Oh my gosh... I just remembered that we have play to go to..." Selena groaned.
"Oh yeah... thats tomorrow isnt it?" Joe asked.
"Tonight..." Selena sadly corrected.
"Really?" Joe asked making an unhappy face.
"Really..." Selena repeated.
"So were all gonna see you there?" Demi asked.
"Yeah... Me Kevin and Frankie are gonna meet you guys there and we can all laugh till we die laughing... or what ever.."
"Yeah... were you trying to be funny?"
"Uh... I was trying to make Mileys performance sound even more unappealing than it already is..."
Everyone cracked up

"Hey Nick... what do ya want?" Frankie asked.
"Uh... I dont know... you know I saw this new Wii game out, yeah its called my Sims Racing.." Nick suggested.
"Yeah I know that..." Frankie replied interested in what Nick had to say about the game.
"You create your own avatar and you race competitively..."
"Cool."

I was paying half attention to Nick as he and Frankie were talking video games; but I was also listening to Joe, Selena, and Demi talk about their birthday. Selena and Demi both agree and hope its not some huge bash like it is every year. They want a small get together with some close friends and have a party. I agree with both of them. I think if it a three to one ratio of a small party, Demi, Sel, and Nick should get their way for once.

Will Demi get Black Keys for Mandy? Wow she sure is doing something sneaky for her boyfriend! I hope Nick will be OK with Mandy doing what ever she thinking about doing...
