Well, for having shod horses for over 30 years, both in France, Spain and Canada, I can tell this is "ferrer à la Française", which I would translate in "shoeing using the French tradition".It comes from the times where most the shoeing were done on draft horses, and for those who did'nt have a rack, two people were necessary.
-
IT's a hell of a lot safer to have two or three guys when shoeing a large draft horse. They can hurt you bad in a hurry.
-
who cares if it takes two or three guys to shoe a horse, if they are frends or even if they get paid for it, do what it takes to get the job done and don't listen to anyone........you might do it this way yourself...I might

your allowed to in england, theres a area in the foot, down the hoof wall that isnt live, theres no blood there, its not a risk its a skill but honestly if you have no shoeing experiance or dont understand the technical sides to it then dont bother saying this stuff, barefoot is jst unnatural and shouldnt be done if there goin on roads and concrete floorin, its cruel to put em through the pain
-
concrete where there obviously gonna get foot sore and lotsa foot abesses, also there diet can efect there feet so y feed em on what u do cause thts unnatural to.
as for those who wrote that about the frog being an absorber, well its also a fact tht da frog gets soft when there on there diets and when there on shavings ect... so it would rip da frog up nd ull b into blood
as 4 those who sed nailin makes the foot num thts aload of crap cause it really doesnt, its y it takes so long before

this video is in germany because in germany the owners/grooms hold the horses feet for the farrier, but ive just read down the comments and i laughed hard
people that say shoes are bad are jst stupid and dont know what there talking bout, what experiance have u seen to say tht lol just cause u know 1 technical word u think uno it all lol
if its so un natural then y keep horses in hay/ shaving covered stables which makes there feet soft then y do u ride out on road or tie em up on

you pail fed gunsel idiots,sad

you guys are idiots
You guys are silly. This is how they shoe horses in whichever country this is in. It takes two guys. One to hold the foot one to work on the hoof. This horse was probably being unco-operative so he cranked the leg up (if its higher he cant pull away). Also horseshoes only limit circulation if you put them around the horses neck.

in some areas where theres hard ground the horse sometimes needs to be shod cuz otherwize the feet will wear down too quickly. my horse dosent hav shoes but my friends horse needs them where she livs cuz otherwise her feet are worn down untilthe frog actually gets ruined.
