  • " It is absolutely impossible to learn just from videos or out of the technique books" !!!! what a stupid statement ! Since you claimed that you are a certified teacher,do you want to be Da Vinci himself or to be his student? But the genius were too busy to invent their own creation, they, Beethoven or Michelangelo, had no time like you to teach ! I guessed you just have enough time to keep on copying, no time for improvements ! George Wu, AIA 2012-2-23

  • @huugaa This guy I met 18 years ago asked me about the quick step once. When I told him about the video by the world champions Marcus Hilton, he answered that he never could learn dancing from the videos or books. Today he is still dancing the way he did 18 years ago. No improvements at all ! There two types of dancers: 1/ good dancers 2/ bad dancers. Period ! Even you are a certified teacher, but you could be a bad dancer, so you became a teacher INSTEAD! • @georgewu5 and his wife separately were too expensive, so I started sketching the figures, 20 years later today I have accumulated 700 pages of computer and free-hand drawings of the ten International Ballroom dances.I used "Simply Beautiful Ballroom by Hilton" & " Dancing Basics with Passion by slavik", Moore's "Ballroom Dancing-1st, 7th, 9th,& 10th editions" and set up 4 screens of Latin and 4 screens of Stand at home to practice with. • @huugaa I believe that we have been debating " self-taught or to be taught. " which was the subject of a high school debate in the year of 1955, long time ago. I could only relate to you my own experience. I started with Arthur Murray, one day I saw a young couple doing the beautiful dance, I asked what thet were, " International Foxtrot" I was told. Since then I fell in love of the International Ballroom.Paying $60 per hour for a lesson from the Russian champion (part 1)

  • @huugaa I am glad that you have changed your tone, " ....but not from videos and the technique book ALONE." " If you are the teacher of Slavik or Marcus, Then I should congratulate you that you should be a better dancer than the world champion ! But the reality is on the contrary, " Those who could not do, teach !" That is probably what you really are ! A teacher ! George Wu, AIA 2012-2-15

  • @georgewu5 I am a certified teacher myself and am blessed to have worked with some of the greatest teachers (and dancers) there are and were, for example Luca Geoffrey Hearn, and Wolfgang Opitz. And all of them told me the same thing: seeing something is one thing, understanding it another, and reproducing it yet another, completely different thing. But yes, you can learn from videos, but not from videos and the technique book alone. If you can do that, you are a genius like Leonardo da Vinci.

  • @huugaa I should not have said you are stupid. You probably are not a visual person, and you need a teacher to hold your hand to tell you what to do, otherwise you would stand there did not know what to do. Everyone is different ! I am a visual person, that is why I could remember how to draw your face only if meeting you once. Can you say you can do what I can do? So don't say that other people cannot learn from the videos just because you are a slow person yourself ! George Wu, AIA

  • @georgewu5 The question, then, is: Where are you ranked currently in the world, michelangelo? Do you really think that the top couples work without trainers and coaches? Or are these couples, including Slavik and Marcus, just not gifted enough or too stupid to learn on their own?

  • @huugaa 2/ Why did you say,"It is absolutely impossible to learn just from videos or out of the technique books because you need someone to explain it to you,to make you experience how everything is done correctly." ? Do you mean that Beethoven, Michelangelo needed a teacher all their life to learn what are famous for? Then I would say if they had such a teacher, their teachers should be more famous than what they are ! Only stupid people like you need a teacher forever and ever !

  • @huugaa 2/ If Michelangelo needed a teacher to tell him what to do, thgen his teacher would have been more famous than than Michelangelo would have been , You are so stupid that you can never learn anything from the video or the technique books, so you deserve to be a poor dancer, because you must need someone to tell you what to do,and you are not visual enough to observe and analysis why the world champions Marcus Hilton and Slavik can dance so beautifully.
