  • @1BADSCOUT Engine tranny and transfer case I had another $400 into. You could even pick up a Scout 2 or Chevy truck and transplant all the running gear into your Scout. Just a thought and I am sure not telling how to do it. Just a couple of ways I have seen it done. I guess the biggest deciding factor is budget and the next would be what you want to do with the Scout.

  • @1BADSCOUT Which are fairly inexpensive as far as engines go and the chevy transmission and transfer cases are also fairly cheap. If you can find the right deal you can even find IH v-8's pretty cheap. I started off with 3/4 ton Chevy axles which I picked up for about $200.

  • Thats one way to go about it. A 20R or a 22r might be a bit underpowered if you want to do any kind of wheeling. Scout sheetmetal has quite a bit more weight than a stock toyota pick up. Your frame underneath your Scout is very strong. It can handle just about any running gear that you want to install in it. Ford Chevy or Mopar. I am using a chevy small block V-8.

  • Are you still working on this??? Let me know if you have any questions or need some help?

  • new scout fuel tanks on ebay $160
