Yuko and I messing around with Roland MC-505 and Yamaha PSS-460 that I got from Karen. I'm using a Roland MC-505, Korg EA-1, Korg Kaoss Pad 2, a DOD FX-56 American Metal distortion pedal and an Electro Harmonix Micro Synthesizer. Really.

  • Really great! I like your music videos :D

How do you connect your gear? like midi/audio routing? I'll share my setup sometime soon :)

I'm looking for some nice free hosting :D

    Cheers! continue your good work!

  • The MC-505 is my master for midi. Right now I have only the Korg EA-1 running slave off it. I have an M-AUDIO keyboard that I sometimes run into the 505 as well, but I usually just use that for Reason, which I barely ever use now. I tried to connect the EA-1 by midi but it killed my whole midi setup on my 505 and I ended up having to do a factory reset to get any sound out of the 505 again. They keyboard on top is a Yamaha PSS-460, no midi so just synced by setting the tempo and hitting play

  • As for audio: The 505 and EA-1 are going straight into my Behringer mixer. The Yamaha is running through the KP-2. Oh yeah and in my comment above it was the KP2 that killed my midi, not the EA-1, no probs with the EA-1. The Electro Harmonix and the DOD pedal are running in sequence on my aux send from the behringer. That's pretty much it. I don't think I even had the electro harmonix on for this vid. I know i was playing with it, but i really couldn't hear it. I will try to make another

  • Sure its a rough recording he is just gettin wappy at his pad he's not trying to be top 40 bullsh**. Other MIDI users may also notice, just how the track is tight, the trak is using the MC505 to sequnce. NO COMPUTER involved, he is running a live sequnce and droppg the parts in and/or tweaking them as they come. I don;t miss windows and all its latency one bit. What makes the track is the breakbeat w/the crash cymb at beat cnt 4.4 at end of loop, I think the dist pedal got it or white noise.KP'd?

  • awesome!!

  • Dude-you REALLY know what you are doing! And this all without MIDI! Why aren't you famous yet? Your sound is SO FAT!!!!!!!!!

  • Nice Groove !!

  • Hi getupkid2137!

I had to do a factory reset on my 505 too! Not a cool thing to do, is it? something went wrong using it w/cubase. User memory was jammed:(grrr I figgered out that an other midi-keyboard mess up sound banks on the 505 when doing a Octave Change. It causes the sounds to be messed up. But you can undo this by changing back the octave again on the masterkeyboard. Since a while I bought a memorycard for the 505 I now also back-up all songs and userdata:)

  • NICE! keep on grooveboxin'

  • Oh yeah! Trying to use the MC other than master with an electribe sucks! :( I tried to use my ER as master, but now I use mc-303 > korg er > korg ea > yamaha fb-01 (that's my midi chain :))
