S'awfully nice! Herman and Earl and I used to hang many nights. New Orleans people. Herman is playing so great on this as are Roy, John (Hey John!) and I don't know Llew but have heard him play many times and when he was with Nancy W. RIP, Herman.
Herman was not only a great player but a great teacher as well. I owe my entire playing career to what I learned from him in high school. I just found out we lost him last year, and the world seems a little colder to me.
This tune reminds me of our days at Marty's on 58th St. & Broadway in Los Angeles, many years ago. It's where I started my singing career. Herman is cooking on this tune just like he was then only here with even more maturity. He was and is the greatest! And Llew Mathews alway has so much fun on piano. John Giannelli on bass is fabulous, and Roy McCurdy is the great cooker on drums I love this. I'm dancing in front of my computer! Sandy Graham
This is not "Sans Souci" but "Nostalgia." To my knowledge, so far, there are 3 contrafacts to the standard, "Out Of nowhere",
Casbah
Nostalgia
Sans Souci

I'm daning right along with you Sandy. Herman was great - too bad we lost him. I knew him when I lived in L.A.
