no minimum wage, an undervalued currency, and not giving the slightest fuck about the environment.
3)Having a large financial sector has NOTHING AT ALL to do with creating booms and busts whatsoever, they happen depending on the growth of the economy... They have always happened, we were constantly going through boom and bust before thatcher.
Please study economics, maybe read the economist before voting next

Sorry, but you are just attacking for the sake of it.. I can see you have not studied economics or researched hard on Thatcher I say that as respectfully as possible. Seriously though
1)Times change and FACT:All the mines closed were LOSING MONEY, end of. There was a time when manufacturing made us great but of course things change.
2)We still are one of the worlds biggest maufactures but cannot compete with countries like China without having no workers rights,

@locsman Can't be that ill if she can still do impressions.
-
@locsman Thankfully you're a faggot who won't reproduce due to your love of being fucked in the ass over women. Go get an education, you liberal douche bag.
-
She could almost be talking the circumstances in Australia right now.
-
thankfully now she is a vegetable.
-
@foreskinforest And a policy to sell Britain's sovereignty to the devil.
-
@SkullOfYorick For one thing he left a golden economic legacy to labour- falling unemployment, fastest growing economy in europe, low inflation, a low budget deficit.
-
@SkullOfYorick He made it a policy to start paying off our national debt.

Plus, Thatcher didn't actually do anything, she just gave people the freedom to do what they wanted, and they chose turning Britain into a service-economy. If manufacturing were "the natural industry of Britain", people of Britain would've chosen to create manufacturing companies instead of service providers. You comment just makes no sense what-so-ever.
ive just seen Iron Lady. Streeps performance is one of the finest pieces of acting ive ever seen. for me it was the most that can be achieved by an actors. in the highest order of dramatic acting.
but watching this one is reminded of the very thing which is almost impossible to act. an extra-ordinary intellect.

@AGpixar2000 Yes the men were cowardly before. People forget that the IMF had to bail out England who was in major debt before Lady T got into power. It needed the tough love of a woman to make sure that the British house was in order. No man could have done a better job. In fact I think Britain would be worse of. Glad you have loads of common sense!
