  • to me, this is the GREATEST recording of this great song....sheena is even better than dusty on this one, and dusty springfield's an exceptional song stylist.

  • I agree I love Dusty but prefer this version and i have never heard it before. Excellent Sheena as always xx

  • @dottydawn1 That's awesome! Sheena has a lot of long time fans who were there in the 80's when she was the bomb! This is one of my favorite songs of hers as the ballads that were in her albums were always powerful and so beautifully done, vocally. This is one of the best.

  • The Queen of Ballards - go girl!!

  • Sorry the best rendition of this song is Al Kooper when he was the lead singer of Blood Sweat & Tears. Their first album entitled "Child is the Father to the Man" includes this and there is not a bad song on either side.

  • You may not believe this (if you were born after 1990) but this is the woman that matched Jennifer Lopez (but with a voice) back in the 80s. Every artist passes the torch from their era to a new artist to carry the fire to new grounds in a new era and based on sex appeal and music type (good or bad) unassumingly leaves her mark on a new world. I may not agree with it but here is what became of one the most celebrated sexy songstresses of the 80s. You're listening to our gift to you.

  • @dottydawn1 You are so lucky I love her music especially Machinery

  • dottydawn, I loved her hope she comes back again. One of the most beautiful voices I have ever heard.

  • Classy Sheena!

  • Gene Pitney does a better version.......by far, but this is elegant

  • Fantastic! Brought up listening to this and so many other of Sheena's songs as she is my mum's sister! I'm proud to call her my aunt!
