If I Hosted Bumper Stumpers, I want to bring back the Final Stumper Bonus Round, with the Money Amounts and the Stop Signs. I also want a Set with License Plates all over the Place, and a Checkerboard Floor.
Isn't GLOBAL Canadian? 'Cause I remember watching this show in the early 1980's on CJOH Channel 6 (Is that in Coburg anyone know??) We used to have an aerial for our TV so we could get Buffalo sations and that Channel 6.
MG is on at 12 noon or 1PM now, something like that. I watch bits and pieces of it every day inbetween busy periods at my store. GSN has classics all morning now; they've come a loooong way since 2004.
I'll agree with you on TV Land though. Their originals are straight garbage. What's worse is, if I want to watch a nice clean episode of Andy Griffith, I have to be exposed to a plethora of promos for this smut at least twice during the half-hour.
Yeah, the original GSN was much better than today's. GSN and TVLand did the same thing: started out specifically to show classics, and then evolved into creating their own shows and eliminating the good classics. Ha, I remember when my first boyfriend and I would sit and watch 2 straight hours of Richard Dawson's Family Feud, then 2 straight hours of Match Game! I have to set my TiVo to record Match Game at something like 1am for me if I want to watch it today!
This was one of my favorites to watch when I was home sick from school! I was born in '85, so I'm pretty sure the show was on in the early nineties. I didn't remember that it was called "Bumper Stumpers" lol.
I miss this show... and I miss that Global Television Network logo too.

I remember spotting a tricky vanity plate in real life. AVDRZEN.
It took a while to figure out it was saying "auf wiedersehen".
