@61761176 The psychedelic compounds on their own are not poison's -LSD, Psilocybin, DMT, etc. The mushroom you had eaten must have had other poisonous alkaloids in it. A mushroom like Psilocyben Cubensis is not poisonous at all. So you must have eaten a mushroom that was poisonous. No one has even died from magic mushrooms unless they had an accident while tripping.

Psychedelic drugs cause increases in blood pressure and sometimes other physical side effects such as tremors or changes in body temperature, sweating, muscle tension, etc. DMT in fact causes a very sharp rise in blood pressure. The point is he was wrong about it having no effect on the body.

@mcnowski What 61761176 is saying is not entirely untrue. One Erowid user reported being unable to eat n e thing but lite snacks for 2 weeks. Grof in Hofmann's Potion states that the psychedelic experience can be achieved w/o drugs via "...*fasting* in combination with meditation." The chemistry of the brain is connected with the chemistry of the body.
