The Mathis Magic was a short series Johnny recorded for the BBC and consisted of concert performances from his autumn 1981 British tour, studio performances and conversation pieces with Noel Edmonds and was televised in April 1982.

Johnny performs a medley of two songs he recorded as duets, the first with Jane Olivor from "The Best Days Of My Life", and the second with Deniece Williams from "You Light Up My Life". Do We really believe Johnny was dumbfounded when Niecy walked on from the wings?

  • wow my two fave songs of Johnny Mathis!!!!

  • The duet Johnny did with Jane Oliver is the best duet, of the many, he has ever done. Exquisite!

  • Johnny Mathis is hot, and Deniece Williams is beautiful. Great talent is so sorely missed in this day and time.

  • Deniece Williams -- what a beauty, what a singer!

  • I have listened to Johnnie (and Deniece) for over 30 years and he is one of the all time greats.

  • Great intro by Deniece__JM looked shocked but she had done this once before!!

  • Beautiful

  • It took him a few seconds to realise it was really Niecey and not a recording before she walked on. Genuine affection between two all time Greats!
