http://www.rick-graham.co.uk Hi guys, here is an improv on a backing track taken from my upcoming lesson 'Static Chord Soloing' available as a download from my website. I had a lot of fun soloing over this one!

  • Always a fan of your playing but your signature good tone is lacking here.

  • @shreddnsteve why do you think that is?

  • @starlinginspector I dont think your tone is lacking mate, but i would say that it is different,in that the pick attack on the strings is louder making it sound a little harsher in comparsison to your 'smoother' tone which i'm used to hearing. regardless it still sounds killer man, great solo!

  • @Adamshredsify I totally agree man, I changed the pickups for dimarzios as a test but will be putting the aldrich pups back in next week

  • @starlinginspector My guess is the pick-ups if that's the only thing that has changed in your set up. Just sounded a bit muddy to me. To be honest I thought it sounded more like a software based amp model in this particular video. This of course is my opinion and just prefer your cleaner tone I have become accustom to. Again, no disrespect, I'm a fan of your playing and always enjoy watching your vids. Everyones ears are different, so I might be alone on this one.

  • @shreddnsteve Thanks mate, I appreciate your input!

my favourite was still the video of the shred this i think it was... with the gold JS... so vocal and warm

  • rick sounds like rick to me regardless of gear! this new lesson sounds awesome...an area id really like to improve on! may have you purchase when some money appears!

  • these are the dimarzio pups from your JS2000?

  • Totally in agreement with shreddnsteve about the tone. However, this was probably some of the most bad ass improv I've ever heard--just bad ass.

  • ...and of course the ridiculous as ever playing!

  • ill be buying this one! that backing track is great! big nasty sound to it!

  • Your tone is unique! Orgasme LOL :D

  • I am a big fan of this new tone! What DiMarzios are you using? Don't change it!!
