thats a shit load of splines
-
@DrewboiX Ah. Well thank you for the reply. Keep up the hard work!
-
@alex20productions Not a helix spline since they would eventually collide at one point. Not really but some overlapping definitely would have occurred since these paths were running so close to each other.
-
When I pointed the camera in a certain direction, I didn't always get a desired result of repetitiveness. So I needed to tweak how much the sweeps completes its path based on the angle of the camera. Not to mention I wanted it to look like in certain instances that each path was trying to race each other and then slowly bring them together in a offset uniform state. I made this before GSG tutorial and I didn't know you could have decent control with clones. Basically I did it the hard way.

@alex20productions You know I was going to get to this question awhile ago but I git sidetracked and forgot. I apologize for the very late reply. Essentially what I did was built a spline with several points and twisted the spline. After that I made duplicates of that spline and rotated and positioned each one further from each other so they wouldn't overlap. I didn't use a clone since I wanted to be able to control each sweep nurb on its own. One particular reason is because of camera angles.

@IICBeattieII The path the splines are moving in kind of resembles a helix spline.

@alex20productions yeah pretty much, but he would use the step effector and shader effector to get the look of the actual project, The movement of the splines might be achieved by the twist effector maybe? but otherwise I would have just thought that he might have drawna a really cool looking spline, i am unsure about the movement

very nice =)!

If i had that channel i would watch it solely for this

Curious Question - How much do you make in a month :)
What are you computer specs? Imagine this must have taken some time to render. How long did this whole project take overall?

This project is actually ongoing since I get a request to produce a new mini open every 3 weeks. Overall, of what you saw, took about a month. Keep in mind, I had to produce a Graphics package for this TV show as well. Not to mention I was juggling several other little projects at the same time.
