This our documentation story of a tragic flood in Washington/Oregon. We happened to be in the middle of it all, in one of the most effected cities, Chehalis. So I took out my camera and started filming.

We heard that the flood levels were a record high 76 inches over flood level (as opposed to 1991's 72 inches).

Also, what you didn't see was that I tried to swim across to the Walgreens/Gamestop/Sleep Country island to get the best footage of all, but I got stopped and had to swim back. I'll probably get cancer or something :)

  • wow man... i used to live in that same area about 5 years ago now. I still have one friend who lives there but luckily he was out of town when it hit

  • It's funny: Right when the flood was starting up, me and my family were in Portland. We actually got out in the nick of time before the highways closed...

  • Keep your kayaks close, Centralia/Chehalis. The current city gov.'s solution for future floods is to continue building within the flood plain, only with higher infill. They still don't seem to understand the concept of water displacement.

  • My dads law office had about 1-2 inches of water in it. So early monday I had to go help start bailing water and it was pretty cold I was only there for a few hours before I went to work but I was soaked to the bone it was bad but not as bad as other areas.

  • I live in centralia where itmainly only flooded downtown

  • A trillion in damage a year, and still no sugar in the gas tanks? You won't go far with this kind of attitude. But you can always wait until 2020, go ahead. They say that in 2050 things will get a little worse..., maybe. I dare you to comment this page in 2020, I dare you! Good luck just the same, it's a trillion plus in damage a year now in the USA, it's 2010.

  • wow, thats what really happened,I never knew. And I live in Oregon. Shame.
