Large Hail in Benton County, Arkansas. (05/01/09)

I drove under the hail core that produced this hail several times but was unable to capture it falling as every time I was under the core the hail was still being held up in the storm by the updraft. Once I crossed over I-540 and drove into Lowell I was unable to keep up with the core and just missed when it dumped by a minute or two. I grabbed up a bunch of these stones and put them in a make shift cooler but was unable to get them to the studio before the 5 o'clock news because a supercell rapidly formed in western Washington County and moved directly over Fayetteville with a tornado warning attached to it. I chased that storm into the night, coring it several times and getting golf ball sized hail. It was a hard storm to film due to the poor network and massive amount of trees and hills in the area it traveled over.

I think what you are trying to say is, "would that hurt to be hit by hail that big?" and the answer is yes that large of a hail stone could potentially knock someone out.
