Ronnog and Steve Seaberg, creators of Sreaberg Acrobatic poetry, perform Ronnog's existential poem "Not Here", at Meli Walker's Brooklyn studio.
NOT HERE
Resting on a heap of trash
testing for Down's Syndrome
People don't know where to go
or where they are coming from.
It is not interesting!
It is interesting.
Pressing against the ground
and being depressed
at the same time
The graveyard is my address
Fragments at Lost and Found
Ashes in the air
and in a mound.
And while the sun is shining
on the tigers and the giraffes
the leaves are moving.
The cheetah laughs.
Hunters are killing
and taking photographs.
All is meaningful
and meaningless
Life is a gesture,
a transparency
or a quick caress.
When we are xd over
and the buttons are pushed
for delete
and we have run out
in the atmosphere
on our unreal feet
and drink the unreal beer
of ash, mist and sleet
it will be unclear
if we are here
or not here.
