  • Far from it dude. Steven Wiley started the Christian rap ordeal in 1985. Michael Peace released the first ever full length rap record in 1987 with RRRock it Right. A year later, P.I.D. surfaced. D-Boy might have begun doing his thing around 86 or 87, but his presence wasn't known in the rap world until 1989.

  • nice video

  • first christian raper was Dboy

  • I'd like to see more. Where can I get my hands on this documentary?

  • can anyone name the first DJ on a Gospelrap single or Album? hum mmmm...... maybe a DJ_T

  • Ok... search youtube L-Mizzy - Passionate

  • Wow. SFC "Listen Up" was my first rap tape. I had all Stephen Wileys's records's Ultimate Rap and pretty much everything else. People forget to mention JC and the Boyz who actually put SFC on the map. Sup from SFC is the dopest MC of all time.

  • yeah Sup was the man. Phase 3 is a classic as is Idol King's Explosion 2000

  • sorry mc sweet with his gospel beat (i have the 12") was in 1982.. that's the first i have.

and that is some excellent old school style.
