  • Your videos are great. Many thanks. By the way, how do you get the tracks you play along to to play in tune? My CD player, Ipod, and tracks on my computer usually play slightly out of key, like about a half step too high or low, so that if I want to play along to them, I have to re-tune my guitar. In other words, how do you get your music files to play in key?

  • @fiatlutz I have no idea if they're in standard pitch or not, but that's really irrelevant. I tune my strings to whatever I hear on the recording. It's probably got nothing to do with whether your CD player or iPod. Pop music pitch is all over the place, so don't get hung up on standard pitch.

  • Please post a lesson for "Hey Hey, My My" by Neil Young

  • @kevbo7s I already tried to post that one -- it was rejected for copyright violation.

  • PT: for what it's worth, at 1:12 (coin that won't etc.) try an AM, F then G just for giggles. Peace and great job.

  • @1cleandude That may sound great, but that's not how Neil played it. Check out the video of him doing it on that BBC TV show in '71. You can clearly see the chords he's playing on that line.

  • @thopas You, sir, are a genius! I thought I had the whole world fooled into thinking that it's me singing on all 971 videos I've posted, but now I've been found out. Well done! (insert sarcastic slow hand clap here)

  • Would it be possible if you were to give a lesson to this? I'm sure i am not the only one wishing for something so magnificent. :D

  • i'm pretty sure after the E-minor in the chorus that he hits a G chord, rather than lifting his ring finger off of the E-minor seventh, as you've done. that's how i always thought he did it, and watching the video of him playing it in '71, that's what he's doing. unless i'm watching the wrong video, which may well be the case, as i trust you as a musician much inferior to me.

  • thumbs down twins

  • Well done, I have been doing this song awhile now and was very similar in most all the details but I did pickup on a thing or two I will add within my next gig on this. I will post a youtube on this maybe with a couple weeks or less, I sing this one pretty decent I have been told. I found 1/2 dropped tuning D# down from E and likewise on the other strings, makes it easier to sing this one, especially those high notes/
