furthernyc Oh dear Oh Dear It is Babbino which is Italian for Father. The whole aria is Lauretta pleading with her father to marry her love teh dashing Renuccio. A touching piece though.

We don't spell it BABBINO, but BAMBINO!!! It means child. Good voice but terrible pronounciation.

Man this is just great. It's a shame that America could less about great musicians like this. Pavarotti dies, and noone cares. Amateurish Michael Jackson dies, and it's a national tragedy. Sometimes, I think about moving to Europe:)

Your really dumb aren't you? I'm no MJ fan, but referring to him as amateurish is pretty petty.

A beautiful instrument, a self-indulgent interpretation. So slow, it loses its' meaning. Forgive me. Listen to your predessors, madam. They, and there are many, impart the song with intelligence and honesty. It is not the technic I want to hear. Let's find some meaning in the music, shall we? In my view, this one is not a great singer. She has a great technic, and in that, there is a big difference.

Dude - this is Renee Fleming -- not some wannabe, loser musician, like Toni Braxton or Patti Labelle. This is a great performance. She's no Ella Fitzgerald, but she's one of the great singers of our time. She's a master singer.
