@Jewelsheam Yes, an outsider just doesn't realize how much control the WTS has. I believed for 40 years and *I* am still shocked at the control they have. They have biblical or literature answer for everything. And it usually boils down to "it's your fault for trying to think without us" so we fall back in line, because we do think its us. Very clever. When they cannot answer, you get DF so you cannot speak reveal the lies to anyone else. It's why so many ex-JW are angry. Its frustrating.

@Bedeborah I recommend a book called Crisis of Conscience by Raymond Franz. He was a GB member who left due to "policy over bible" The GB was not what he thought, and even so, he was sucked in for 9 years, till his conscience finally said no more. He is not an angry man, so it isn't a book of anger, it is just a book of how things worked, and why he left. I know I always saw the GB as a super bible think tank, learning the real story is helping me move on.
