Chet Atkins "Charade"

Here is something a little different. Chet playing Charade and using some nice effects. I like the steady rhythm he keeps with that famous Chet thumb. I didn't really know what to put for photos on this one, I suppose I could have used pictures of Andy Williams, but I don't know if all my Chet fans would have really wanted to see that.

I have always loved this theme since I was a kid,

taken me till  grey hairs to play it,

always chasing' Chet.....:)

I wish I could have seen him live before he passed

@sunaJH I saw him once in 1989. On my birthday of all days. Most wonderful, unforgettable birthday I have ever had.

Thanks for all the Chet posts, daffydoug. I suspect a lot of non players wonder what all of the fuss is, about his playing. I had probably been playing for 10 years myself. before I actually realized just how good we was, and what skill was required to play much of what he played, in his style.

@nezpercenathan I know exactly what you are saying. Chet made a lot of his tunes sound deceptively easy, but that belied how difficult they really were to pull off smoothly. Only a guitar player can really appreciate what he was doing with his hands. There is some consummate skill going on there.

I've been playing this song for 30 years and this is the first time I've heard a recording of Chet playing it. Happy to say my arrangement is very similar. Thanks for posting.
