@inbredagogo It was the design. The areas held dirt then get moist and they would start to rust.

@lucklesscracker Cool, my friend has a 71 reg. cab short bed version with the 250 and 3 speed manual. It sounds pretty bad ass!

@Thecarguy1254 i know what you mean. i have an 1984 Chevrolet custom deluxe shortbed and it came stock with the 250. i drove the piss out of that thing until it died on me i pulled it and put a 305 in it i got from a family member and i plan on rebuilding the 250 at some point.

@Motorchevytoyota That's pretty bad if even the frame is rusted. I know that the rocker panels and inside the fenders around the wheels are usually the rusted out spots. I'm not sure if it's the metal that GM used in those years or if it's the design, because those areas tend to catch the materials which causes the rust. I do like the design of the 67-72 trucks though.
