Dan Bricklin (the inventor of the spreadsheet) shows off his latest tech creation -- Note Taker HD -- to TechWeb's David Berlind. Described as "a powerful app for writing and organizing handwritten notes, diagrams, etc., on the iPad," Bricklin says the application highlights why the iPad is indeed a "Pad."

  • @mscottveach lol

  • I'm A developer and this was a GREAT review for this product and this guy is terrific!

  • @shebotnov It looks very cool now.

  • @theEpowell1245 wow... please, be more insane.

  • God, why are people flocking to these horrible note taking apps? Since when is note taking the same as using a stylus that has the precision of an eraser? Take a look at the HP Tm2, that's what real note taking is all about. It actually simulates paper note taking. This is utter crap in comparison. The ipad doesn't come with a stylus for a reason.

  • @willmon8 Don't be a typical consumer and see one video and rush into a purchase this is what is wrong with our world. I know a trustee in bankruptcy and he sees people everyday and guess what a majority of them have Ipad's and a lot of them failed out of University or school because they relied on something to do the work for you and it WILL BACKFIRE every time you do not retain information as well when your 500 dollar tablet does the work for you.

  • guys don't buy an iPad for handwritten notes : it sucks. Wait for a proper Wacom-enabled Windows 8 Slate (eg: Samsung series 7 slate) coming in 2012. I tried the developer's preview on a slate and it's impressive.

  • that's the idea

  • gui looks fine... This app alone makes me want to buy an ipad. Splitting up notes and to folders would be awesome.

  • Hey,

due to this video, i bought this app.

What made me really happy is that there are many great improvements since that video was made. Nearly all things are implemented that have been discussed as TODOs in the video.

  • why is the design of the GUI so ugly? Its like windows 95 design

  • worst mistake i ever made was to buy this app! Later i discovered a much better one called Upad :( and for the same price :(

  • Holy Shit!!!! I like this.

  • ancient babylonians were using spreadsheets.

  • i can see how this doesn't work when you have to write super fast notes.....u have no time to magnify or do other craps

  • I can offer you free DAGi stylus if you would like to evaluate.

  • Nice app. Do you want to evaluate DAGi stylus on this app. If you want, I can offer you free sample. My email address is jason at dagi com tw

  • @lobextomy

Yeah I bought it a long time ago haha.

    Thanks though.

  • @the1disco i dont know if you already know your answer, but note taker doesnt allow keyboard input, however note plus hd does.

  • Any reason the camera operator felt it absolutely necessary to zoom in on Dans face and beard...just wondering?
