@USAGiant The Chiefs won the AFL Title in 1969 beating really good teams, i.e the Super Bowl Champion Jets in NY in the Divisional round and the Raiders in Oakland, Calif. in the AFC championship game.
Then they beat the Vikings in super bowl in last pre-merger AFL/NFL Championship game.
KC again RayJr.62 did not win the AFL(Now AFC west)West regular season division title.
So I do know what I am talking about.

@rayjr62 Look it up. The Chiefs did not win the AFL west in 1969 season. The word 'wild card' came for the non-division winner after the merger in 1970. Although the term did not exist, the Chiefs were techincally the first wild card (non division)super bowl champion.

@USAGiant There were no Wild Cards in 1969, in either the NFL or the AFL. In fact, the Chiefs won the AFL championship outright.
