Animated short created by teens at Red House Church in West Virginia (www.redhousechurch.com). Explores lesser known Biblical character Meshullam (from Nehemiah) and what made him a hero. This is the 4th animated production in as many years from the teens at Red house Church. Written/Directed/Produced by Jamie Cope. Created using overhead projectors and paper "puppets" to make shadows that were photographed with consumer digital cameras.
We don't really know much about him. I picture Meshullam as an average guy. He's mentioned in a couple of verses in chapter 3 of Nehemiah. Something like, "Meshullam fixed the such-and-such gate." (please look it up for the actual verse). That's the cool part really. He's a normal guy, doing something that he probably didn't think was special, but in the big picture it was HUGE. That inspires me when I clean the toilet.
The teens had a great time. We decided to do another project in August.
