This is a preview of a 21-minute documentary made by Doug Biklen. "It's better for growing vegetables than people," says autistic artist Larry Bissonnette, of his years living in an institution. Filled with humorous and poignant assessments of his life, this documentary also explores the complexities of expression as Larry moves between speech, typing and painting.

Hi Larry,
great to see your artism. I have always been able to speak but got functional language since age 9-11. Typing and gestural signing were part of that. Like you I live for my ARTism. I have seen some of your gallery works. Your art speaks well. Your poetry speak is also akin to mine. Warmly, fellow autie artist Donna Williams

I know Larry and see him in the summer, and just recently realized whats going on in his head, it's amazing. Too see the outside and hear the inside they are too different things. He knows words I can't spell and have to look up in the dictionary for their definition. God Bless.

If you have seen the Law and Order SVU season 1 episode "STALKED", do you think the actor who played stalker / rapist / killer Richard White would be a good Larry Bissonnette portrayal. He looks just like the guy in the episode.
