You know that Orion Bus Industries is also owned by Daimler Chrysler too, and their probably more than likely too be the only buses to get powered with Detroit Diesels. But as far as the MCI Buses it looks like it will be the Cummins ISX engine, because the ISL is probably not big enough to fit in the MCI's.

wrong 8v71buses. Detriot Diesel is no longer producing their engine for NON-Daimler AG, they will only produce their engine to Daimler AG buses and truck only.
Also the MCI's next year order will most likely use ISX or ISL, i would say ISX most likely, sorry but cummins will be an option only for buses.

wrong! Starting next year (2010) Detroit Diesel is no longer producing their engines for NON-Daimler AG buses nor trucks, so Detroit Diesel will only produce their engine for Daimler AG buses and trucks only. so next year the MCI will most likely use ISX.
The Series 60, ISM, C13s are going bye-bye.
CAT will no longer make bus engine.
So cummins will be the only option.
although MAN engine and Fyiad engine company wants to enter North America market but we will and wait see what happens.

Yeap thats exactly what I was thinking, man I can't wait to see them on youtube

If NJT should purchase more MCIs which is probable for next year, they will be DD15 powered because Caterpillar C13s & Cummins ISMs will be history next year.
-
CAT C13 is a great engine, but Detroit Diesel DD15 is better. I'm sure that in 2010, MCI Buses will be DD15 powered

You can't go wrong with an NJT with either a Detroit Diesel 60 or Caterpillar C13, they both sound great.
I drive a 2004 Ford Glaval Cutaway with the 6.0 litre International engine and I have nothing but problems with EGR. Have to rev the engine and watch the exhaust until it blows clear. Happens at least once a month. While she's in the shop, I'm driving an older Cutaway with the 7.3 litre and she runs great with no smoke. But the DDEC engines are my favorites.

The EGR is nothing but trouble.

I like the Caterpiller C13. But the Detroit Diesel Series 60 DDEC 2 is my favorite. When the EGR came around, that kill it. Look it what happen to the Series 50 when they put EGR in it. They should of left both engines the way they were. The same problems the had with the series 50, now it happening to the series 60. The EGR made the the engines worst they blew out a whole lot more smoke than the orginals did.

Where did you record it? Inside the bus or at the engine room?
