Guitar progress at 6 months

I started learning around Christmas 2007. I think I'm going to start taking lessons soon. I wanted to document some progress and figured this was a good way to show my family since they've been asking.

@kailms fpr example ive been playin electric guitar for almost a week and i learned the dont cry intro from guns n roses in 2 days so yea COMMITMENT AND PRACTICE!

@00alawre i agree, acoustic then electric is way easier. specially for something like stairway to heaven if your finger picking it. also, it would would help if you use ur index, middle, and ring finger also instead of just going from string to string with thumb and index the whole time. it will feel funny at first but it gets easier. i NEVER use a pick anymore now unless im strumming chords

Try practicing on an acoustic with a thicker guage of string. It will torment you at first but stick to it, it will strengthen your chord shapes and finger movements for electric. Personally i learnt most things on purely acoustic to start, then when i eventually got myself an electric it felt so much easier!

cool! But a few things:

1) Stairway to Heaven is a little long!

2) Make more songs and make them shorter!

3) Make more videos

4) Continue playing but watch Opie's Group on the Andy Griffith Show Series to do it properly!!!
