My Best attempt with my 96 KX 500 that day at this HillClimb near the campsite that didn't have a good run at it and deep sand to battle. Rear tire was too narrow for a 500 (A 110 width) so couldn't get enough traction. =/

  • Making claims is useless without a vid to back it up. I'm just sayin'... I could sit at my keyboard and claim that I rode up that same hill with a skateboard. Doesn't mean it's gonna happen. But it sounds pretty amazing now doesn't it?

  • riding in the sand sucks shit, get it in the dirt man!!

  • @suzuki22girl : And I imagine since you were at the dunes you also had either a Paddle-tire or a soft-terrain tire too. In this vid I had an intermediate terrain tire on the rear and it just doesn't hook-up out at Jawbone. A KX500... CAN... be very forgiving, if you lug it around all day in the lower half of the RPM's and maybe ride around a gear higher than you're used to as well.

Now that I have a Soft-Terrain tire out back though... and hardpack I come across I have to tread lightly.

  • @TheGDizzo sorry, that was a lil harsh. my boyfriend had a kx500 and i rode

@ dumont dunes. fun bikes and very gentle and forgiving for a novice rider, the

    perfect bike to learn on

  • @TheGDizzo I live in South Africa and we go riding in the mine dumps, the sand there is so fine and so soft, i know what you mean about traction on the hill climbs, its a bitch in the dry season. Check out my vids.

  • @suzuki22girl you have clearly never ridden a 500 2 stroke

  • @suzuki22girl : I'm sorry... but if you're joking or something... I ain't gettin' the punch-line. Without traction, holdin' the bang-stick wide-open (especially on a KX500) will do nothing more turn the back tire into a hole-digging machine.

  • @99ktm125 : Thank You! The whole problem I had this day was just shitty traction at that mid-point of the climb. I mean... at the end of the video you can see and hear the engine pulling along no problem... but the bike just wasn't going anywhere once I hit that baby-fine powdery-dust sand. I'm hopine that pretty soon I can do maint. onmy bike and get back out there just so I can try this climb again now with the IRC M5B tire out back. Big difference in the soft stuff.

  • @kx1000man my ass i tryed that hill on my ktm 125 2 stroke in 4th and 3rd and 2nd and i counld make it and u say that u did the hole thing in 4th. and its 10 time steeper than it looks. and 1 foot of sand dosent help

  • hey nice vid. inever did any kind of hillclimbs but i give you mad props.
